Power Evolution: HELVIA Expands the ZEUS-H Series with New 4-Channel Power Amplifiers

The HELVIA ZEUS series, introduced into the company's catalogue several years ago, has quickly earned well-deserved success thanks to its perfect combination of sheer power, reliability, rugged construction and extremely competitive market pricing.

In this product category, generating high output power is not the real challenge. The real achievement lies in ensuring efficient heat dissipation and long-term reliability, especially in permanent installation applications.

Today, HELVIA expands its acclaimed low-impedance amplifier range with two new four-channel models: ZEUS 4600-H and ZEUS 4800-H. Designed to maximize power density within just 2 rack units without compromising dynamic performance, these amplifiers integrate seamlessly into a product family already highly appreciated by the market.

While much of the industry is rapidly moving toward Class D technology, HELVIA has deliberately chosen to further refine traditional Class H architecture. This design combines the sonic purity and fast transient response typical of Class AB circuitry with a multi-step dynamic power supply modulation system. The amplifier continuously monitors the input signal and switches the supply rail voltage only when required to accommodate dynamic peaks. The result is significantly higher thermal efficiency, dramatically reduced power consumption during idle operation, while preserving a full-bodied, detailed and transparent low-frequency response, where traditional toroidal transformers continue to make a tangible difference in current reserve.

Both models feature a standard 19-inch chassis engineered to withstand transportation stress and continuous operation under demanding conditions. Their real operational flexibility comes from four fully independent channels, configurable in Stereo, Parallel or Bridged-Mono operation.

Based on performance ratings measured at 0.5% THD at 1kHz, the ZEUS 4600-H delivers 4 × 600W at 8 Ohms and 4 × 900W at 4 Ohms. In Bridge mode, it provides up to 2 × 1800W at 8 Ohms, making it an ideal solution for multi-zone systems, independent front-fill and stage monitor applications, or medium-power distributed loudspeaker systems.

The ZEUS 4800-H, the flagship model of the series, offers even greater output capability with 4 × 800W at 8 Ohms and 4 × 1050W at 4 Ohms. In Bridge mode, it delivers 2 × 2100W at 8 Ohms and up to 2 × 2900W at 4 Ohms, positioning itself as a powerful solution for driving demanding subwoofer arrays and high-SPL professional PA systems.

For this project, HELVIA has integrated oversized toroidal transformers, high-capacity electrolytic capacitor banks and ultra-linear power transistors. Such high-performance hardware requires equally sophisticated control, which is why both amplifiers feature intelligent cooling systems with thermally controlled variable-speed fans that optimize internal airflow while minimizing background noise whenever silent operation is essential.

Comprehensive protection circuitry safeguards the amplifiers against overheating, output short circuits and DC voltage at the outputs. The Soft Start function prevents harmful inrush current during power-up, while integrated limiters operate transparently to protect connected loudspeakers from signal clipping and overload.

Completing the technical specification is the selectable input sensitivity of 0.775V, 1.0V or 1.4V, allowing perfect interfacing with virtually any mixer or digital signal processor (DSP).

Whether powering a nightclub, sports venue, house of worship or supplying monitor systems for professional rental companies, the new ZEUS-H amplifiers prove themselves as reliable, flexible tools, ready to perform even under the most demanding operating conditions.
