When it comes to outdoor sound reinforcement, the horn represents an established solution for all applications where high intelligibility and the ability to focus acoustic energy towards a specific area are required.
HELVIA EVOCA-50MH starts from this very concept, but interprets it in a decidedly more advanced way and, above all, without overlooking sound quality.
Today, clients increasingly demand adequate audio quality even in outdoor installations, and the era of “nasal” and “harsh-sounding” horns is over. Thanks to its technology and careful component selection, HELVIA has achieved the perfect combination of power and sound quality.

EVOCA-50MH is a 50 W RMS coaxial 2-way passive loudspeaker, equipped with a 6.5" woofer and a 1" dome tweeter. This is one of the key aspects that most clearly distinguishes it from traditional outdoor horns. It maintains a high degree of directivity, with behaviour that is almost comparable to that of a megaphone, while employing an acoustic architecture closer to that of a conventional Pro Audio loudspeaker.
The coaxial configuration allows the two transducers to operate from a single acoustic point, helping to maintain consistent sound distribution. The aim is therefore to go beyond the traditional use of the horn, generally associated primarily with voice and service announcements, and achieve sufficiently extended reproduction for music as well.

The frequency response reaches 200 Hz – 20 kHz, while sensitivity is 97 dB (1 W/1 m). This latter specification is particularly interesting in outdoor installations, as high sensitivity makes it possible to achieve good sound pressure levels without necessarily requiring high amplifier power. The nominal power rating is 50 W RMS at 8 Ohm, a value which, combined with the loudspeaker’s sensitivity, also makes EVOCA-50MH suitable for distributed sound systems.
The specified coverage is
120°, while the robust C-bracket supplied with the loudspeaker allows the
system to be aimed with an adjustment range of up to ±75°, through an
11-position locking system. In a permanent installation, this makes it possible
to achieve precise aiming towards the area to be covered, taking advantage of
the system’s directivity while reducing signal dispersion towards areas that do
not need to be covered.

Another key feature is its ability to operate both in low impedance at 8 Ohm and within 70/100 V systems. The line transformer is integrated and features three power taps, in addition to the 8 Ohm mode selectable from the rear panel. This flexibility allows EVOCA-50MH to be used both in compact PA systems and in large-scale distributed installations, where numerous loudspeakers need to be connected over long cable runs.
The construction has naturally been designed for outdoor use, and the cabinet is made of paintable ABS, with an internal structure that protects the woofer and tweeter and allows the loudspeaker to achieve an IEC529 IP66 protection rating. It is therefore a loudspeaker designed to remain installed outdoors and withstand dust, water and demanding environmental conditions, while also offering the possibility of aesthetically integrating into its surroundings through cabinet painting.

The dimensions are 390 × 425 × 310 mm, sufficiently compact for a loudspeaker of this type, while providing adequate acoustic volume to accommodate the 6.5" woofer and its 2-way configuration.
The result is a product that combines features normally belonging to different categories: the directivity and efficiency of a horn, the 2-way architecture of a Pro Audio loudspeaker, an extended response up to 20 kHz, the flexibility of 70/100 V and 8 Ohm systems, and an IP66-rated construction designed for outdoor installation.
HELVIA EVOCA-50MH is therefore not simply an outdoor horn, but a solution designed to bring higher sound quality to the world of outdoor PA sound reinforcement, when it is not enough for voice to carry over long distances, but music must also be reproduced while maintaining control, intelligibility and efficiency.

Thanks to its technical features, versatility and range of applications, it therefore represents a true must-have for any professional PA system catalogue, particularly for applications such as sports facilities, parks, resorts, swimming pools, commercial areas, beach resorts and public spaces, where robustness, directivity and sound reproduction quality need to coexist within the same loudspeaker.
